CS2 Trade-Up Calculator & Simulator
💡 How to use: Click any slot to search and add CS2 skins. You need 10 items of the same rarity to calculate trade-up probabilities and expected profit.
How Trade Up Contracts Work
Trade up 10 skins of one rarity to get 1 skin of the next rarity tier.
Input 10 Skins
Select 10 skins of the same rarity from the same or different collections
Calculate Odds
See the probability of getting each possible outcome skin
Predict Float
Know the exact float range of your output before trading up
Trade Up Float Formula
Where Min and Max are the float range limits of the output skin.
Example Calculation
10 skins with average float 0.15, output skin range 0.00-0.50:
Output = 0.15 × (0.50 - 0.00) + 0.00 = 0.075 (Minimal Wear)
Low Float Strategy
Use 10 low-float input skins to guarantee a low-float output. Factory New trade ups can be worth significantly more.
Trade Up Tips & Strategies
Float Average Matters
The output float is based on the average float of your 10 input skins. Lower average = lower output float.
Mix Collections Strategically
Use skins from collections with expensive outcomes to increase your expected value.
Check Float Ranges
Some skins have restricted float ranges. A "Field-Tested only" skin can't come out Factory New.
Calculate Expected Value
Multiply each outcome probability by its value, then subtract input cost to find profit potential.
Common Trade Up Mistakes to Avoid
Ignoring Float Ranges
Not all skins can be Factory New. Check the float range of potential outcomes before starting. A skin with min float 0.06 can never be FN (requires 0.00-0.07).
Mixing Rarities
All 10 input skins must be the same rarity. Mixing Mil-Spec with Restricted will fail. Double-check rarity colors before confirming.
Using High Float Inputs
High average input float = high output float. A Battle-Scarred outcome from your trade up will be worth far less than Factory New or Minimal Wear.
Skipping ROI Calculation
Always calculate expected value vs cost. A 90% chance of profit sounds good until you realize the 10% loss outcome costs more than all wins combined.
Popular CS2 Trade Up Contracts
These trade up contracts are frequently attempted by CS2 traders due to their profitable outcomes or popular skins.
Dreams & Nightmares Collection
Trade up from Mil-Spec (Blue) to Restricted (Purple) with a chance at the AK-47 Nightwish or USP-S Ticket to Hell. High demand skins with strong resale value.
Kilowatt Collection to Covert
Trading up Classified (Pink) skins from the Kilowatt Collection for a chance at the Zeus x27 Olympus. Expensive inputs but potentially massive profit with low float.
Chroma Collection Knife Trade Up
Use 10 Covert (Red) skins to attempt a knife unbox. Extremely expensive and risky, but potential for knives worth thousands. Only for experienced traders with large budgets.
CS2 Trade Up Contract FAQ
What is a CS2 Trade Up Contract?
A Trade Up Contract allows you to exchange 10 skins of the same quality (rarity) for one skin of the next higher quality. For example, 10 Mil-Spec (Blue) skins can be traded for 1 Restricted (Purple) skin. The outcome is determined by the collections of your input items.
How do I calculate trade up odds?
Trade up odds are based on the number of skins from each collection. If you use 7 skins from Collection A and 3 from Collection B, you have a 70% chance of getting an outcome from Collection A and 30% from Collection B. Our calculator automatically computes these probabilities.
How is the output float value calculated?
The output float uses the formula: Output Float = (Average Input Float) × (Max - Min) + Min. This means if you use 10 skins with an average float of 0.15, and the output skin has a range of 0.00-0.50, your result will be: 0.15 × (0.50 - 0.00) + 0.00 = 0.075 float.
Can I get a Factory New skin from any trade up?
No. The output skin must have a float range that includes Factory New (0.00-0.07). Some skins start at 0.06 or higher and can never be FN. Always check the min/max float range of potential outcomes before attempting a trade up for FN items.
What makes a profitable trade up contract?
A profitable trade up has a positive expected value (EV). Calculate EV by multiplying each outcome's probability by its market price, then subtract your input cost. If the result is positive, the trade up is mathematically profitable over many attempts.
Should I buy low float or high float input skins?
Low float inputs are always better for trade ups. They cost more but guarantee a lower output float, which significantly increases the value of your result. Factory New outcomes can be worth 2-10x more than Battle-Scarred versions of the same skin.
Can I trade up to get a knife or gloves?
Yes, but it requires 10 Covert (Red) skins from specific collections that have knife/glove outcomes. This is extremely expensive (often $500-2000+ in inputs) and has the same 0.26% drop rate as opening cases. Only recommended for wealthy traders.
How accurate is this trade up calculator?
Our calculator uses real-time market prices from the Steam Community Market and official CS2 float formulas. Probability calculations are 100% accurate. However, actual outcomes are random - the calculator shows expected value over many attempts, not guaranteed results.
Trade Up Risk Warning
Trade up contracts are inherently risky. Even with perfect calculations, you can still get unlucky outcomes. Never trade up skins you can't afford to lose. Our calculator helps you make informed decisions, but doesn't guarantee profits.
